This past winter head Chef Guillaume created a fresh exciting flavour. So exciting that when we took it off our menu, we had shops, cafes and restaurants calling us asking for it to come back! So, back by popular demand, let us reintroduce you to the Blueberry and Cherry Gateaux.

A homemade brownie based topped with a dome of fruity blueberry mousse. In the centre of the dome, you’ll find a cherry and blueberry jelly. Topped with whipped cream and crushed freeze-dried cherry. A perfectly balanced chocolate and fruit flavour.

So, where did Guillaume come up with this delicious design and flavour? As he describes it, ‘it’s always been a popular flavour!’ ‘we also really wanted to get back into what the fruit tasted like and create it into a delicious light mousse.’

He went on to say that cherry is something that’s worked in the past and that by getting the perfect mix of blueberry infused with it – it made something truly fresh and delicious. The secret to such a light and beautiful desert is simple – real fruit.

 “Real fruit. You can’t fake fruit and flavour!” Guillaume says.

Every year through the seasons the wholesale French pastry kitchen is evolving and looking at new recipes. With research into trends, what our trusted clients are asking for and experimenting with flavours, there’s always going to be something delicious in the works in the Ma Cherie kitchen. Although one thing is for sure – we’re excited to see the Blueberry and Cherry Gateaux back on the menu for our wholesale customers!
